The bills
Pay the hospitalisation fees in a foreign hospital and certain other medical expenses.
Repatriation
Repatriate the patient to Belgium if necessary for medical reasons.
Informing the family
Inform family members.
Practical information
Provide information about foreign hospitals, doctors, dentists, nurses and pharmacists.
Medical advice
Give medical advice and exchange information with foreign doctors.
Who are we?
The Independent Health Insurance Funds group three Belgian health insurance funds with a unique, independent character and an own vision on well-being: Helan (in Flanders and Brussels), Partenamut (in Wallonia and Brussels), and the Freie Krankenkasse (in German-speaking Belgium). Together we insure more than 2,2 million members. This makes us the third biggest national association in Belgium.
Who can benefit from Mediphone Assist?
All insured persons who paid their contributions for the complementary insurance from one of the 3 Independent Health Insurance Funds can call on Mediphone Assist.
After your return to Belgium, Mediphone Assist will also pay (via your health insurance fund) an additional reimbursement for urgent medical costs abroad.
